These photos are from the collection of Rob Clayton (12 College Road, Wells, Somerset, England). They were taken by British Broadcasting Company sound engineer Reg Pidsley for his own use while following the troops. Rob Clayton was a British schoolboy during WWII who later served in the Royal Air Force. He bought the pictures from Pidsley's estate. Clayton's interest in the military goes back to his father who was a British veteran of WWI.
